collagraph prints with chine colle of photo litho, soft ground etching and red sandstone earth pigment

this work takes as a starting point Doreen Massey's idea of landscape in a constant state of process, where

'landscape could be imagined as provisionally intertwined simultaneities of ongoing, unfinished stories'

taking kimmeridge bay as my subject i researched the social history and archeology of place, discovering the fact that the skeleton of a long buried Celtic woman had been recently unearthered

ongoing environmental change and coastal erosion contiunes to reveal the history of a place in its landscape

accompanying soundscape includes my own fieldwork notes and samples from the singing of Shirley Collins and fieldwork archives of Joe Stevens
